Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari

Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari is an advertising pro with over a decade of experience working on several brands during her stint at McCann Erickson and Leo-Burnett. She was the Executive Creative Director at Leo-Burnett working on award winning campaigns before she quit agency life to realize her dream to be a film-maker and story-teller. Her directorial venture in the form of a short film “What’s for Breakfast?” won the Dada Saheb Phalke National Award in 2013 and there has been no looking back since. With an acute understanding of art, design & drama, Ashwiny has proven herself to be an adept storyteller. Her debut feature length film “Nil Battey Sannata” has already won awards in India and acclaim at film festivals around the world. She also directed the Tamil remake of her debut film titled “Amma Kanakku”. Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari won the Filmfare Best Debut Director of 2016 award. She has also won the Filmfare and Zine Cine Awards for her film “Bareilly Ki Barfi”.

When not working on any of the above you would find this bookworm, traveling, gardening on ‘OctoberGarden’, documenting life stories on ‘No Makeup’ and playing the role of a mother to dotting twin children.
